उन्होंने पक्षीराज गरुड़जी का बहुत ही आदर-सत्कार किया और स्वागत (कुशल) पूछकर बैठने के लिए सुंदर आसन दिया। फिर प्रेम सहित पूजा कर के कागभुशुण्डिजी मधुर वचन बोले-॥4॥
* नाथ कृतारथ भयउँ मैं तव दरसन खगराज।
आयसु देहु सो करौं अब प्रभु आयहु केहि काज॥63क॥
…“O’ Lord, I am blessed by the sight of you. O’ King of Birds, command me, and I shall act accordingly. My Lord, may I ask what has brought you here?”
हे नाथ ! हे पक्षीराज ! आपके दर्शन से मैं कृतार्थ हो गया। आप जो आज्ञा दें मैं अब वही करूँ। हे प्रभो ! आप किस कार्य के लिए आए हैं ?॥63क॥
सदा कृतारथ रूप तुम्ह कह मृदु बचन खगेस।॥
जेहि कै अस्तुति सादर निज मुख कीन्ह महेस॥63ख॥

पक्षीराज गरुड़जी ने कोमल वचन कहे- आप तो सदा ही कृतार्थ रूप हैं, जिनकी बड़ाई स्वयं महादेवजी ने आदरपूर्वक अपने श्रीमुख से की है॥63ख॥
* सुनहु तात जेहि कारन आयउँ। सो सब भयउ दरस तव पायउँ॥
देखि परम पावन तव आश्रम। गयउ मोह संसय नाना भ्रम॥1॥
…Listen, dear one, the very purpose that brought me here was fulfilled the moment I arrived, and I have also been blessed by the sight of you. Upon beholding your supremely pure and sacred hermitage, all my delusions, doubts, and many lingering misconceptions have been dispelled…
हे तात! सुनिए, मैं जिस कारण से आया था, वह सब कार्य तो यहाँ आते ही पूरा हो गया। फिर आपके दर्शन भी प्राप्त हो गए। आपका परम पवित्र आश्रम देखकर ही मेरा मोह संदेह और अनेक प्रकार के भ्रम सब जाते रहे॥1॥
अब श्रीराम कथा अति पावनि। सदा सुखद दुख पुंज नसावनि॥
सादर तात सुनावहु मोही। बार बार बिनवउँ प्रभु तोही॥2॥
…Dear one, now please recite to me with due reverence the most sacred story of Shri Ram, which is ever blissful and dispels countless sufferings. I humbly implore you again and again for this, O’ Lord.”
अब हे तात! आप मुझे श्री रामजी की अत्यंत पवित्र करने वाली, सदा सुख देने वाली और दुःख समूह का नाश करने वाली कथा सादर सहित सुनाएँ। हे प्रभो! मैं बार-बार आप से यही विनती करता हूँ॥2॥
सुनत गरुड़ कै गिरा बिनीता। सरल सुप्रेम सुखद सुपुनीता॥
भयउ तास मन परम उछाहा। लाग कहै रघुपति गुन गाहा॥3॥
Hearing Garud ji’s humble, sincere, loving, pleasing, and deeply pious plea, Kak Bhushundi ji’s heart was filled with immense joy, and he then began to recite the glorious virtues of Lord Ram.
गरुड़जी की विनम्र, सरल, सुंदर प्रेमयुक्त, सुप्रद और अत्यंत पवित्र वाणी सुनते ही भुशण्डिजी के मन में परम उत्साह हुआ और वे श्री रघुनाथजी के गुणों की कथा कहने लगे॥3॥
प्रथमहिं अति अनुराग भवानी। रामचरित सर कहेसि बखानी॥
पुनि नारद कर मोह अपारा। कहेसि बहुरि रावन अवतारा॥4॥
Lord Shiv told Goddess Bhawani that Kak Bhushundi ji first lovingly described the sacred essence of the lake of Shri Ram’s divine deeds, then spoke of Sage Narad’s deep infatuation, and finally explained the reasons behind Ravan’s incarnation.
हे भवानी! पहले तो उन्होंने बड़े ही प्रेम से रामचरित मानस सरोवर का रूपक समझाकर कहा। फिर नारदजी का अपार मोह और फिर रावण का अवतार कहा॥4॥
प्रभु अवतार कथा पुनि गाई। तब सिसु चरित कहेसि मन लाई॥5॥
Thereafter, he sang of the divine descent of Lord Ram and, with deep interest, lovingly recounted the playful exploits of the Lord’s childhood.
फिर प्रभु के अवतार की कथा वर्णन की। तदनन्तर मन लगाकर श्री रामजी की बाल लीलाएँ कहीं॥5॥
* बालचरित कहि बिबिधि बिधि मन महँ परम उछाह।
रिषि आगवन कहेसि पुनि श्रीरघुबीर बिबाह॥64॥
After joyfully recounting the Lord’s childhood pastimes, Kak Bhushundi ji went on to narrate the arrival of Sage Vishwamitra in Ayodhya, followed by the grand marriage of Shri Raghuveer to Sita ji.
मन में परम उत्साह भरकर अनेकों प्रकार की बाल लीलाएँ कहकर, फिर ऋषि विश्वामित्रजी का अयोध्या आना और श्री रघुवीरजी का विवाह वर्णन किया॥64॥
* बहुरि राम अभिषेक प्रसंगा। पुनि नृप बचन राज रस भंगा॥
पुरबासिन्ह कर बिरह बिषादा। कहेसि राम लछिमन संबादा॥1॥
He then recounted the preparations for Shri Ram’s coronation, which were suddenly disrupted, leading to King Dashrath’s solemn vow to send Shri Ram into exile in the forest for fourteen years. Kak Bhushundi ji also described the deep anguish of the citizens at their separation from Lord Ram and the moving dialogue between Shri Ram and Shri Lakshman.
फिर श्री रामजी के राज्याभिषेक का प्रसंग फिर राजा दशरथजी के वचन से राजरस (राज्याभिषेक के आनंद) में भंग पड़ना, फिर नगर निवासियों का विरह, विषाद और श्री राम-लक्ष्मण का संवाद (बातचीत) कहा॥1॥
बिपिन गवन केवट अनुरागा। सुरसरि उतरि निवास प्रयागा॥
बालमीक प्रभु मिलन बखाना। चित्रकूट जिमि बसे भगवाना॥2॥
He further described Lord Ram’s journey to the forest, the deep affection shown by the boatman Kevat, the crossing of the sacred river Ganga, and their stay at holy Prayag. He then spoke of Lord Ram’s meeting with Sage Valmiki and how, after their conversation, the Lord chose Chitrakoot as His abode.
श्री राम का वनगमन, केवट का प्रेम, गंगाजी से पार उतरकर प्रयाग में निवास, वाल्मीकिजी और प्रभु श्री रामजी का मिलन और जैसे भगवान् चित्रकूट में बसे, वह सब कहा॥2॥
सचिवागवन नगर नृप मरना। भरतागवन प्रेम बहु बरना॥
करि नृप क्रिया संग पुरबासी। भरत गए जहाँ प्रभु सुख रासी॥3॥
He then recounted Minister Sumantra’s return to the capital and the passing of King Dashrath, followed by Bharat ji’s arrival in Ayodhya from his maternal grandparents’ home. He spoke of Bharat ji’s deep love for Shri Ram and described the performance of the King’s last rites. He then narrated how Bharat ji, accompanied by the citizens, set out for Chitrakoot to bring back Shri Ram, the source of all joy.
फिर मंत्री सुमंत्रजी का नगर में लौटना, राजा दशरथजी का मरण, भरतजी का (ननिहाल से) अयोध्या में आना और उनके प्रेम का बहुत वर्णन किया। राजा की अन्त्येष्टि क्रिया करके नगर निवासियों को साथ लेकर भरतजी वहाँ गए जहाँ सुख की राशि प्रभु श्री रामचंद्रजी थे॥3॥
पुनि रघुपति बहु बिधि समुझाए। लै पादुका अवधपुर आए॥
भरत रहनि सुरपति सुत करनी। प्रभु अरु अत्रि भेंट पुनि बरनी॥4॥
He then spoke of how Lord Raghupati consoled Bharat ji in many ways, and how Bharat ji, with a heavy heart, returned to Ayodhya, reverently carrying the Lord’s sandals. He went on to describe Bharat ji’s austere life in a hermitage in Nandigram. Kak Bhushundi ji also narrated the episode of Jayant, the son of the Demigod Indra, and his sinful act, and thereafter recounted the meeting between Lord Ram and Sage Atri.
फिर श्री रघुनाथजी ने उनको बहुत प्रकार से समझाया, जिससे वे खड़ाऊँ लेकर अयोध्यापुरी लौट आए, यह सब कथा कही। भरतजी की नन्दीग्राम में रहने की रीति, इंद्रपुत्र जयंत की नीच करनी और फिर प्रभु श्री रामचंद्रजी और अत्रिजी का मिलाप वर्णन किया॥4॥
* कहि बिराध बध जेहि बिधि देह तजी सरभंग।
बरनि सुतीछन प्रीति पुनि प्रभु अगस्ति सतसंग॥65॥
Kak Bhushundi ji then narrated how Lord Ram slew the demon Viradh, followed by the account of Sage Sharbhang’s renunciation of his body. He went on to describe the devotion of Sage Sutikshan and Lord Ram’s profound spiritual discourse with Sage Agastya.
जिस प्रकार विराध का वध हुआ और शरभंगजी ने शरीर त्याग किया, वह प्रसंग कहकर, फिर सुतीक्ष्णजी का प्रेम वर्णन करके प्रभु और अगस्त्यजी का सत्संग वृत्तान्त कहा॥65॥
* कहि दंडक बन पावनताई। गीध मइत्री पुनि तेहिं गाई॥
पुनि प्रभु पंचबटीं कृत बासा। भंजी सकल मुनिन्ह की त्रासा॥1॥
He spoke of how Lord Ram sanctified the Dandakaranya forest and sang of the friendship between Lord Ram and the Vulture King, Jatayu. He then narrated how Lord Ram made His abode at Panchvati and dispelled the fears of all the hermits.
दंडकवन का पवित्र करना कहकर फिर भुशुण्डिजी ने गृध्रराज के साथ मित्रता का वर्णन किया। फिर जिस प्रकार प्रभु ने पंचवटी में निवास किया और सब मुनियों के भय का नाश किया,॥1॥
पुनि लछिमन उपदेस अनूपा। सूपनखा जिमि कीन्हि कुरूपा॥
खर दूषन बध बहुरि बखाना। जिमि सब मरमु दसानन जाना॥2॥
Kak Bhushundi ji then recounted Lord Ram’s special instruction to Shri Lakshman on spiritual wisdom, dispassion, Maya (Lord’s Illusory energy), and devotion. He went on to narrate how Ravan’s demon sister, Shurpanakha, was disfigured when her ears and nose were cut off, followed by the slaying of the demons Khar and Dushan, and how the ten-headed Ravan came to learn of these events.
और फिर जैसे लक्ष्मणजी को अनुपम उपदेश दिया और शूर्पणखा को कुरूप किया, वह सब वर्णन किया। फिर खर-दूषण वध और जिस प्रकार रावण ने सब समाचार जाना, वह बखानकर कहा,॥2॥
दसकंधर मारीच बतकही। जेहि बिधि भई सो सब तेहिं कही॥
पुनि माया सीता कर हरना। श्रीरघुबीर बिरह कछु बरना॥3॥
He then narrated the dialogue between Ravan and his demon uncle Marich, describing their scheme to abduct Sita ji. This was followed by the account of the abduction of the illusory Sita ji and Lord Raghuveer’s deep anguish in separation from His beloved.
तथा जिस प्रकार रावण और मारीच की बातचीत हुई, वह सब उन्होंने कही। फिर माया सीता का हरण और श्री रघुवीर के विरह का कुछ वर्णन किया॥3॥
पुनि प्रभु गीध क्रिया जिमि कीन्हीं। बधि कबंध सबरिहि गति दीन्ही॥
बहुरि बिरह बरनत रघुबीरा। जेहि बिधि गए सरोबर तीरा॥4॥
After this, he recounted the battle between Jatayu and Ravan and how Lord Ram performed Jatayu’s last rites after he was slain by Ravan. He then described the slaying of the demon Kabandh by Shri Ram and how the Lord granted liberation to the tribal woman Shabri, a steadfast devotee. He further narrated Lord Ram’s deep anguish in separation from Sita ji and His journey to the banks of Pampa Lake.
फिर प्रभु ने गिद्ध जटायु की जिस प्रकार क्रिया की, कबन्ध का वध करके शबरी को परमगति दी और फिर जिस प्रकार विरह वर्णन करते हुए श्री रघुवीरजी पंपासर के तीर पर गए, वह सब कहा॥4॥
* प्रभु नारद संबाद कहि मारुति मिलन प्रसंग।
पुनि सुग्रीव मिताई बालि प्रान कर भंग॥66क॥
Kak Bhushundi ji recounted the dialogue between Narad ji and Shri Ram, followed by the episode of Shri Ram’s meeting with Maruti, Hanuman ji. He then narrated the Lord’s alliance with Sugriv, which ultimately led to the slaying of Bali.
प्रभु और नारदजी का संवाद और मारुति के मिलने का प्रसंग कहकर फिर सुग्रीव से मित्रता और बालि के प्राणनाश का वर्णन किया॥66क॥
कपिहि तिलक करि प्रभु कृत सैल प्रबरषन बास।
बरनन बर्षा सरद अरु राम रोष कपि त्रास॥66ख॥
Kak Bhushundi ji further narrated how Sugriv was crowned the King of Kishkindha, while Shri Ram took temporary residence on Pravarshan Mountain, patiently waiting for the rainy season to pass so that Sugriv and the monkey army could begin the search for Sita ji. He then described the end of the Monsoon and the arrival of Autumn, followed by Shri Ram’s righteous anger when Sugriv failed to honour his promise, leaving the Monkey King distressed and filled with fear.
सुग्रीव का राजतिलक करके प्रभु ने प्रवर्षण पर्वत पर निवास किया, वह तथा वर्षा और शरद् का वर्णन, श्री रामजी का सुग्रीव पर रोष और सुग्रीव का भय आदि प्रसंग कहे॥66ख॥
* जेहि बिधि कपिपति कीस पठाए। सीता खोज सकल दिसि धाए॥
बिबर प्रबेस कीन्ह जेहि भाँति। कपिन्ह बहोरि मिला संपाती॥1॥
He then recited how Sugriv, the King of Monkeys, sent his forces in all directions in search of Sita ji. He explained how one such group entered a cave and eventually encountered Sampati, the elder brother of Jatayu.
जिस प्रकार वानरराज सुग्रीव ने वानरों को भेजा और वे सीताजी की खोज में जिस प्रकार सब दिशाओं में गए, जिस प्रकार उन्होंने बिल में प्रवेश किया और फिर जैसे वानरों को सम्पाती मिला, वह कथा कही॥1॥
सुनि सब कथा समीरकुमारा। नाघत भयउ पयोधि अपारा॥
लंकाँ कपि प्रबेस जिमि कीन्हा। पुनि सीतहि धीरजु जिमि दीन्हा॥2॥
He then described how, after receiving all the information from Sampati, Hanuman ji, the son of the Wind God, leapt across the vast ocean to reach Lanka. He recounted how Hanuman ji met Vibhishan, found Sita ji, and consoled Her, assuring Her that Shri Ram would soon come to Her rescue.
सम्पाती से सब कथा सुनकर पवनपुत्र हनुमान्जी जिस तरह अपार समुद्र को लाँघ गए, फिर हनुमान्जी ने जैसे लंका में प्रवेश किया और फिर जैसे सीताजी को धीरज दिया, सो सब कहा॥2॥
बन उजारि रावनहि प्रबोधी। पुर दहि नाघेउ बहुरि पयोधी॥
आए कपि सब जहँ रघुराई। बैदेही की कुसल सुनाई॥3॥
He explained how Hanuman ji laid waste to the royal Ashoka garden and boldly confronted Ravan with wise counsel. He then narrated how, after setting Lanka ablaze, Hanuman ji crossed the ocean once again and, along with the entire band of monkeys, returned to Shri Ram to inform Him of Sita ji’s welfare.
अशोक वन को उजाड़कर, रावण को समझाकर, लंकापुरी को जलाकर फिर जैसे उन्होंने समुद्र को लाँघा और जिस प्रकार सब वानर वहाँ आए जहाँ श्री रघुनाथजी थे और आकर श्री जानकीजी की कुशल सुनाई,॥3॥
सेन समेति जथा रघुबीरा। उतरे जाइ बारिनिधि तीरा॥
मिला बिभीषन जेहि बिधि आई। सागर निग्रह कथा सुनाई॥4॥
He then narrated how Shri Raghuveer, along with the entire monkey army, encamped on the shores of the ocean. He further explained the circumstances that led Vibhishan to seek refuge with Shri Ram and also recounted the episode of the ocean’s subjugation.
फिर जिस प्रकार सेना सहित श्री रघुवीर जाकर समुद्र के तट पर उतरे और जिस प्रकार विभीषणजी आकर उनसे मिले, वह सब और समुद्र के बाँधने की कथा उसने सुनाई॥4॥
* सेतु बाँधि कपि सेन जिमि उतरी सागर पार।
गयउ बसीठी बीरबर जेहि बिधि बालिकुमार॥67क॥
Kak Bhushundi ji recounted how the monkey army reached Lanka by constructing a wondrous bridge across the ocean. He also described how Angad, the valiant son of Bali, was sent as a messenger to Ravan’s court, carrying Lord Ram’s message.
पुल बाँधकर जिस प्रकार वानरों की सेना समुद्र के पार उतरी और जिस प्रकार वीर श्रेष्ठ बालिपुत्र अंगद दूत बनकर गए वह सब कहा॥67क॥
निसिचर कीस लराई बरनिसि बिबिध प्रकार।
कुंभकरन घननाद कर बल पौरुष संघार॥67ख॥
He recounted the battle between the demons and the monkey army, describing each stage of the fierce conflict. He vividly portrayed the immense might and valour of Kumbhkaran and Meghnad, and narrated how both warriors ultimately met their end.
फिर राक्षसों और वानरों के युद्ध का अनेकों प्रकार से वर्णन किया। फिर कुंभकर्ण और मेघनाद के बल, पुरुषार्थ और संहार की कथा कही॥67ख)॥
* निसिचर निकर मरन बिधि नाना। रघुपति रावन समर बखाना॥
रावन बध मंदोदरि सोका। राज बिभीषन देव असोका॥1॥
He recounted the destruction of the demon armies and the many battles between Shri Raghupati and Ravan. He described Ravan’s death and Mandodari’s lamentation, the enthronement of Vibhishan, and how the Demigods were finally freed from their suffering.
नाना प्रकार के राक्षस समूहों के मरण तथा श्री रघुनाथजी और रावण के अनेक प्रकार के युद्ध का वर्णन किया। रावण वध, मंदोदरी का शोक, विभीषण का राज्याभिषेक और देवताओं का शोकरहित होना कहकर,॥1॥
सीता रघुपति मिलन बहोरी। सुरन्ह कीन्हि अस्तुति कर जोरी॥
पुनि पुष्पक चढ़ि कपिन्ह समेता। अवध चले प्रभु कृपा निकेता॥2॥
He narrated the reunion of Sita ji and Shri Raghupati and described how all the Demigods praised Lord Ram with folded hands and deep reverence. He also recounted how the all-merciful Lord, accompanied by the monkeys, boarded the Pushpak aeroplane and returned to Ayodhya.
फिर सीताजी और श्री रघुनाथजी का मिलाप कहा। जिस प्रकार देवताओं ने हाथ जोड़कर स्तुति की और फिर जैसे वानरों समेत पुष्पक विमान पर चढ़कर कृपाधाम प्रभु अवधपुरी को चले, वह कहा॥2॥
जेहि बिधि राम नगर निज आए। बायस बिसद चरित सब गाए॥
कहेसि बहोरि राम अभिषेका। पुर बरनत नृपनीति अनेका॥3॥
He narrated how Ram ji returned to His city and recounted all the sacred deeds of Shri Ram, including His coronation. He described the splendour of Ayodhya and its royal order, highlighting the just and harmonious governance under Lord Ram’s reign.
जिस प्रकार श्री रामचंद्रजी अपने नगर (अयोध्या) में आए, वे सब उज्ज्वल चरित्र काकभुशुण्डिजी ने विस्तारपूर्वक वर्णन किए। फिर उन्होंने श्री रामजी का राज्याभिषेक कहा। (शिवजी कहते हैं-) अयोध्यापुरी का और अनेक प्रकार की राजनीति का वर्णन करते हुए-॥3॥
कथा समस्त भुसुंड बखानी। जो मैं तुम्ह सन कही भवानी॥
सुनि सब राम कथा खगनाहा। कहत बचन मन परम उछाहा॥4॥

भुशुण्डिजी ने वह सब कथा कही जो हे भवानी! मैंने तुमसे कही। सारी रामकथा सुनकर गरुड़जी मन में बहुत उत्साहित (आनंदित) होकर वचन कहने लगे-॥4॥
* गयउ मोर संदेह सुनेउँ सकल रघुपति चरित।
भयउ राम पद नेह तव प्रसाद बायस तिलक॥68क॥

श्री रघुनाथजी के सब चरित्र मैंने सुने, जिससे मेरा संदेह जाता रहा। हे काकशिरोमणि! आपके अनुग्रह से श्री रामजी के चरणों में मेरा प्रेम हो गया॥68क॥
मोहि भयउ अति मोह प्रभु बंधन रन महुँ निरखि।
चिदानंद संदोह राम बिकल कारन कवन॥68ख॥

* देखि चरित अति नर अनुसारी। भयउ हृदयँ मम संसय भारी॥
सोई भ्रम अब हित करि मैं माना। कीन्ह अनुग्रह कृपानिधाना॥1॥

बिलकुल ही लौकिक मनुष्यों का सा चरित्र देखकर मेरे हृदय में भारी संदेह हो गया। मैं अब उस भ्रम (संदेह) को अपने लिए हित करके समझता हूँ। कृपानिधान ने मुझ पर यह बड़ा अनुग्रह किया॥1॥
जो अति आतप ब्याकुल होई। तरु छाया सुख जानइ सोई॥
जौं नहिं होत मोह अति मोही। मिलतेउँ तात कवन बिधि तोही॥2॥

सुनतेउँ किमि हरि कथा सुहाई। अति बिचित्र बहु बिधि तुम्ह गाई॥
निगमागम पुरान मत एहा। कहहिं सिद्ध मुनि नहिं संदेहा॥3॥

और कैसे अत्यंत विचित्र यह सुंदर हरिकथा सुनता, जो आपने बहुत प्रकार से गाई है? वेद, शास्त्र और पुराणों का यही मत है, सिद्ध और मुनि भी यही कहते हैं, इसमें संदेह नहीं कि-॥3॥
संत बिसुद्ध मिलहिं परि तेही। चितवहिं राम कृपा करि जेही॥
राम कृपाँ तव दरसन भयऊ। तव प्रसाद सब संसय गयऊ॥4॥

मच्छर काहि कलंक न लावा। काहि न सोक समीर डोलावा॥
चिंता साँपिनि को नहिं खाया। को जग जाहि न ब्यापी माया॥2॥

कीट मनोरथ दारु सरीरा। जेहि न लाग घुन को अस धीरा॥
सुत बित लोक ईषना तीनी। केहि कै मति इन्ह कृत न मलीनी॥3॥

मनोरथ क्रीड़ा है, शरीर लकड़ी है। ऐसा धैर्यवान् कौन है, जिसके शरीर में यह कीड़ा न लगा हो? पुत्र की, धन की और लोक प्रतिष्ठा की, इन तीन प्रबल इच्छाओं ने किसकी बुद्धि को मलिन नहीं कर दिया (बिगाड़ नहीं दिया)?॥3॥
यह सब माया कर परिवारा। प्रबल अमिति को बरनै पारा॥
सिव चतुरानन जाहि डेराहीं। अपर जीव केहि लेखे माहीं॥4॥
