सागर सरि सर बिपिन अपारा। नाना भाँति सृष्टि बिस्तारा॥
सुर मुनि सिद्ध नाग नर किंनर। चारि प्रकार जीव सचराचर॥4॥
…oceans, rivers, lakes, and boundless forests. I beheld a manifold diversity of creation, including Demigods, Sages, realized Saints, serpents, human beings, and Kinnars. All four categories of beings, animate and inanimate alike, were present (those born from eggs, from moisture, from womb, and from the Earth)…
असंख्य समुद्र, नदी, तालाब और वन तथा और भी नाना प्रकार की सृष्टि का विस्तार देखा। देवता, मुनि, सिद्ध, नाग, मनुष्य, किन्नर तथा चारों प्रकार के जड़ और चेतन जीव देखे॥4॥
* जो नहिं देखा नहिं सुना जो मनहूँ न समाइ।
सो सब अद्भुत देखेउँ बरनि कवनि बिधि जाइ॥80क॥
…I witnessed wonders I had never seen or heard of, far beyond what even the mind can conceive, how, then, could I ever describe them?…
जो कभी न देखा था, न सुना था और जो मन में भी नहीं समा सकता था (अर्थात जिसकी कल्पना भी नहीं की जा सकती थी), वही सब अद्भुत सृष्टि मैंने देखी। तब उसका किस प्रकार वर्णन किया जाए!॥80क॥
एक एक ब्रह्मांड महुँ रहउँ बरष सत एक।
एहि बिधि देखत फिरउँ मैं अंड कटाह अनेक॥80ख॥

* लोक लोक प्रति भिन्न बिधाता। भिन्न बिष्नु सिव मनु दिसित्राता॥
नर गंधर्ब भूत बेताला। किंनर निसिचर पसुखग ब्याला॥1॥

प्रत्येक लोक में भिन्न-भिन्न ब्रह्मा, भिन्न-भिन्न विष्णु, शिव, मनु, दिक्पाल, मनुष्य, गंधर्व, भूत, वैताल, किन्नर, राक्षस, पशु, पक्षी, सर्प,॥1॥
देव दनुज गन नाना जाती। सकल जीव तहँ आनहि भाँती॥
महि सरि सागर सर गिरि नाना। सब प्रपंच तहँ आनइ आना॥2॥
…Demigods and demons of every class. Every creature bore a form unique to its own Universe. The Earth, with its innumerable rivers, oceans, mountains, and all forms of creation within each Universe, was distinct and different in every respect…
तथा नाना जाति के देवता एवं दैत्यगण थे। सभी जीव वहाँ दूसरे ही प्रकार के थे। अनेक पृथ्वी, नदी, समुद्र, तालाब, पर्वत तथा सब सृष्टि वहाँ दूसरे ही दूसरी प्रकार की थी॥2॥
अंडकोस प्रति प्रति निज रूपा। दाखेउँ जिनस अनेक अनूपा॥
अवधपुरी प्रति भुवन निनारी। सरजू भिन्न भिन्न नर नारी॥3॥
…I saw myself present in each Universe and witnessed countless unique wonders. Every Universe had its own Ayodhya, with its own Saryu River and its own men and women…
प्रत्येक ब्रह्माण्ड में मैंने अपना रूप देखा तथा अनेकों अनुपम वस्तुएँ देखीं। प्रत्येक भुवन में न्यारी ही अवधपुरी, भिन्न ही सरयूजी और भिन्न प्रकार के ही नर-नारी थे॥3॥
दसरथ कौसल्या सुनु ताता। बिबिध रूप भरतादिक भ्राता॥
प्रति ब्रह्मांड राम अवतारा। देखउँ बालबिनोद अपारा॥4॥

हे तात! सुनिए, दशरथजी, कौसल्याजी और भरतजी आदि भाई भी भिन्न-भिन्न रूपों के थे। मैं प्रत्येक ब्रह्माण्ड में रामावतार और उनकी अपार बाल लीलाएँ देखता फिरता॥4॥
* भिन्न भिन्न मैं दीख सबु अति बिचित्र हरिजान।
अगनित भुवन फिरेउँ प्रभु राम न देखेउँ आन॥81क॥

सोइ सिसुपन सोइ सोभा सोइ कृपाल रघुबीर।
भुवन भुवन देखत फिरउँ प्रेरित मोह समीर॥81ख॥

*भ्रमत मोहि ब्रह्मांड अनेका। बीते मनहुँ कल्प सत एका॥
फिरत फिरत निज आश्रम आयउँ। तहँ पुनि रहि कछु काल गवाँयउँ॥1॥

निज प्रभु जन्म अवध सुनि पायउँ। निर्भर प्रेम हरषि उठि धायउँ॥
देखउँ जन्म महोत्सव जाई। जेहि बिधि प्रथम कहा मैं गाई॥2॥

फिर जब अपने प्रभु का अवधपुरी में जन्म (अवतार) सुन पाया, तब प्रेम से परिपूर्ण होकर मैं हर्षपूर्वक उठ दौड़ा। जाकर मैंने जन्म महोत्सव देखा, जिस प्रकार मैं पहले वर्णन कर चुका हूँ॥2॥
राम उदर देखेउँ जग नाना। देखत बनइ न जाइ बखाना॥
तहँ पुनि देखेउँ राम सुजाना। माया पति कृपाल भगवाना॥3॥

करउँ बिचार बहोरि बहोरी। मोह कलिल ब्यापित मति मोरी॥
उभय घरी महँ मैं सब देखा। भयउँ भ्रमित मन मोह बिसेषा॥4॥

मैं बार-बार विचार करता था। मेरी बुद्धि मोह रूपी कीचड़ से व्याप्त थी। यह सब मैंने दो ही घड़ी में देखा। मन में विशेष मोह होने से मैं थक गया॥4॥
* देखि कृपाल बिकल मोहि बिहँसे तब रघुबीर।
बिहँसतहीं मुख बाहेर आयउँ सुनु मतिधीर॥82क॥

सोइ लरिकाई मो सन करन लगे पुनि राम।
कोटि भाँति समुझावउँ मनु न लहइ बिश्राम॥82ख॥

श्री रामचंद्रजी मेरे साथ फिर वही लड़कपन करने लगे। मैं करोड़ों (असंख्य) प्रकार से मन को समझाता था, पर वह शांति नहीं पाता था॥82ख॥
* देखि चरित यह सो प्रभुताई। समुझत देह दसा बिसराई॥
धरनि परेउँ मुख आव न बाता। त्राहि त्राहि आरत जन त्राता॥1॥
…Beholding His playful acts and recalling the divine glory I had witnessed within His belly, I lost all awareness of my body. Crying out, “Save me, save me, O’ Protector of devotees in distress,” I collapsed to the ground, unable to utter another word…
यह (बाल) चरित्र देखकर और पेट के अंदर (देखी हुई) उस प्रभुता का स्मरण कर मैं शरीर की सुध भूल गया और हे आर्तजनों के रक्षक! रक्षा कीजिए, रक्षा कीजिए, पुकारता हुआ पृथ्वी पर गिर पड़ा। मुख से बात नहीं निकलती थी!॥1॥
प्रेमाकुल प्रभु मोहि बिलोकी। निज माया प्रभुता तब रोकी॥
कर सरोज प्रभु मम सिर धरेऊ। दीनदयाल सकल दुख हरेऊ॥2॥
…Seeing me overwhelmed with love, the Lord immediately withdrew the power of His Maya. Gracious to the supplicant, He gently placed His lotus-like hand upon my head, and in that instant, all my distress was dispelled…
तदनन्तर प्रभु ने मुझे प्रेमविह्वल देखकर अपनी माया की प्रभुता (प्रभाव) को रोक लिया। प्रभु ने अपना करकमल मेरे सिर पर रखा। दीनदयालु ने मेरा संपूर्ण दुःख हर लिया॥2॥
कीन्ह राम मोहि बिगत बिमोहा। सेवक सुखद कृपा सं॥
प्रभुता प्रथम बिचारि बिचारी। मन महँ होइ हरष अति भारी॥3॥

सेवकों को सुख देने वाले, कृपा के समूह (कृपामय) श्री रामजी ने मुझे मोह से सर्वथा रहित कर दिया। उनकी पहले वाली प्रभुता को विचार-विचारकर (याद कर-करके) मेरे मन में बड़ा भारी हर्ष हुआ॥3॥
भगत बछलता प्रभु कै देखी। उपजी मम उर प्रीति बिसेषी॥
सजल नयन पुलकित कर जोरी। कीन्हिउँ बहु बिधि बिनय बहोरी॥4॥
…Beholding the Lord’s boundless affection for His devotees, my heart overflowed with love for Him. My eyes brimmed with tears, every feather standing on end, I offered supplications to the Lord in countless ways, my wings folded in reverence…
प्रभु की भक्तवत्सलता देखकर मेरे हृदय में बहुत ही प्रेम उत्पन्न हुआ। फिर मैंने (आनंद से) नेत्रों में जल भरकर, पुलकित होकर और हाथ जोड़कर बहुत प्रकार से विनती की॥4॥
* सुनि सप्रेम मम बानी देखि दीन निज दास।
बचन सुखद गंभीर मृदु बोले रमानिवास॥83क॥

काकभसुंडि मागु बर अति प्रसन्न मोहि जानि।
अनिमादिक सिधि अपर रिधि मोच्छ सकल सुख खानि॥83ख॥

हे काकभुशुण्डि! तू मुझे अत्यंत प्रसन्न जानकर वर माँग। अणिमा आदि अष्ट सिद्धियाँ, दूसरी ऋद्धियाँ तथा संपूर्ण सुखों की खान मोक्ष,॥83ख॥
*ग्यान बिबेक बिरति बिग्याना। मुनि दुर्लभ गुन जे जग नाना॥
आजु देउँ सब संसय नाहीं। मागु जो तोहि भाव मन माहीं॥1॥
…Or, if you so wish, I can bestow spiritual knowledge, wisdom, dispassion, enlightenment, and virtues that even realized Saints find difficult to attain in this world. All of these I shall grant you today, without the slightest doubt. Therefore, ask for whatever your heart desires.”
ज्ञान, विवेक, वैराग्य, विज्ञान, (तत्त्वज्ञान) और वे अनेकों गुण जो जगत् में मुनियों के लिए भी दुर्लभ हैं, ये सब मैं आज तुझे दूँगा, इसमें संदेह नहीं। जो तेरे मन भावे, सो माँग ले॥1॥
सुनि प्रभु बचन अधिक अनुरागेउँ। मन अनुमान करन तब लागेउँ॥
प्रभु कह देन सकल सुख सही। भगति आपनी देन न कही॥2॥

प्रभु के वचन सुनकर मैं बहुत ही प्रेम में भर गया। तब मन में अनुमान करने लगा कि प्रभु ने सब सुखों के देने की बात कही, यह तो सत्य है, पर अपनी भक्ति देने की बात नहीं कही॥2॥
भगति हीन गुन सब सुख ऐसे। लवन बिना बहु बिंजन जैसे॥
भजन हीन सुख कवने काजा। अस बिचारि बोलेउँ खगराजा॥3॥

भक्ति से रहित सब गुण और सब सुख वैसे ही (फीके) हैं जैसे नमक के बिना बहुत प्रकार के भोजन के पदार्थ। भजन से रहित सुख किस काम के? हे पक्षीराज! ऐसा विचार कर मैं बोला-॥3॥
जौं प्रभु होइ प्रसन्न बर देहू। मो पर करहु कृपा अरु नेहू॥
मन भावत बर मागउँ स्वामी। तुम्ह उदार उर अंतरजामी॥4॥
…My Lord, if You are pleased to grant me a boon, and if Your grace and affection rest upon me, then I beg You to fulfil my most cherished desire. O’ Master, You are generous and know the secrets of every heart…
हे प्रभो! यदि आप प्रसन्न होकर मुझे वर देते हैं और मुझ पर कृपा और स्नेह करते हैं, तो हे स्वामी! मैं अपना मनभाया वर माँगता हूँ। आप उदार हैं और हृदय के भीतर की जानने वाले हैं॥4॥
*अबिरल भगति बिसुद्ध तव श्रुति पुरान जो गाव।
जेहि खोजत जोगीस मुनि प्रभु प्रसाद कोउ पाव॥84क॥
…O’ Lord, bless me with that same pure and unwavering devotion, praised in the Vedas and the Puranas, which enlightened yogis and great Saints have sought, yet which only a rare few attain through Your grace…
आपकी जिस अविरल (प्रगाढ़) एवं विशुद्ध (अनन्य निष्काम) भक्ति को श्रुति और पुराण गाते हैं, जिसे योगीश्वर मुनि खोजते हैं और प्रभु की कृपा से कोई विरला ही जिसे पाता है॥84क॥
भगत कल्पतरू प्रनत हित कृपा सिंधु सुखधाम।
सोइ निज भगति मोहि प्रभु देहु दया करि राम॥84ख॥
…You are the wish-fulfilling tree, the Kalpavriksh, for Your devotees, and the compassionate well-wisher of all who surrender to You, O’ Ocean of mercy and abode of bliss. Be merciful upon me, my Lord, and bless me with that same deep, unwavering devotion to You, O’ Shri Ram.”
हे भक्तों के (मन इच्छित फल देने वाले) कल्पवृक्ष! हे शरणागत के हितकारी! हे कृपासागर! हे सुखधान श्री रामजी! दया करके मुझे अपनी वही भक्ति दीजिए॥84ख॥
* एवमस्तु कहि रघुकुलनायक। बोले बचन परम सुखदायक॥
सुनु बायस तैं सहज सयाना। काहे न मागसि अस बरदाना॥1॥

‘एवमस्तु’ (ऐसा ही हो) कहकर रघुवंश के स्वामी परम सुख देने वाले वचन बोले- हे काक! सुन, तू स्वभाव से ही बुद्धिमान् है। ऐसा वरदान कैसे न माँगता?॥1॥
सब सुख खानि भगति तैं मागी। नहिं जग कोउ तोहि सम बड़भागी॥
जो मुनि कोटि जतन नहिं लहहीं। जे जप जोग अनल तन दहहीं॥2॥
…You have asked for the gift of devotion, which is the very root of all blessings. There is no one in this world as truly blessed as you. Even Sages who subject their bodies to severe penance, constant chanting, and rigorous yoga are unable to attain what you have sought…
तूने सब सुखों की खान भक्ति माँग ली, जगत् में तेरे समान बड़भागी कोई नहीं है। वे मुनि जो जप और योग की अग्नि से शरीर जलाते रहते हैं, करोड़ों यत्न करके भी जिसको (जिस भक्ति को) नहीं पाते॥2॥
रीझेउँ देखि तोरि चतुराई। मागेहु भगति मोहि अति भाई॥
सुनु बिहंग प्रसाद अब मोरें। सब सुभ गुन बसिहहिं उर तोरें॥3॥
…I am deeply pleased by your wisdom in seeking my devotion, which is so dear to my heart. Listen, O’ Bird, by my grace, all noble virtues shall now abide within your heart…
वही भक्ति तूने माँगी। तेरी चतुरता देखकर मैं रीझ गया। यह चतुरता मुझे बहुत ही अच्छी लगी। हे पक्षी! सुन, मेरी कृपा से अब समस्त शुभ गुण तेरे हृदय में बसेंगे॥3॥
भगति ग्यान बिग्यान बिरागा। जोग चरित्र रहस्य बिभागा॥
जानब तैं सबही कर भेदा। मम प्रसाद नहिं साधन खेदा॥4॥
…Devotion, spiritual wisdom, true knowledge, dispassion, yoga, and insight into my deeds, their mysteries, and classifications, all of these shall be granted to you by my grace. You will not have to endure the hardships of penance to attain them…
भक्ति, ज्ञान, विज्ञान, वैराग्य, योग, मेरी लीलाएँ और उनके रहस्य तथा विभाग- इन सबके भेद को तू मेरी कृपा से ही जान जाएगा। तुझे साधन का कष्ट नहीं होगा॥4॥
*माया संभव भ्रम सब अब न ब्यापिहहिं तोहि।
जानेसु ब्रह्म अनादि अज अगुन गुनाकर मोहि॥85क॥
…From this moment on, all delusions born of Maya shall have no power over you. Know me as the Supreme Lord, without beginning or end, unborn, beyond all material qualities, and the eternal source of every virtue…
माया से उत्पन्न सब भ्रम अब तुझको नहीं व्यापेंगे। मुझे अनादि, अजन्मा, अगुण (प्रकृति के गुणों से रहित) और (गुणातीत दिव्य) गुणों की खान ब्रह्म जानना॥85क॥
मोहि भगत प्रिय संतत अस बिचारि सुनु काग।
कायँ बचन मन मम पद करेसु अचल अनुराग॥85ख॥

हे काक! सुन, मुझे भक्त निरंतर प्रिय हैं, ऐसा विचार कर शरीर, वचन और मन से मेरे चरणों में अटल प्रेम करना॥85ख॥
* अब सुनु परम बिमल मम बानी। सत्य सुगम निगमादि बखानी॥
निज सिद्धांत सुनावउँ तोही। सुनु मन धरु सब तजि भजु मोही॥1॥

अब मेरी सत्य, सुगम, वेदादि के द्वारा वर्णित परम निर्मल वाणी सुन। मैं तुझको यह ‘निज सिद्धांत’ सुनाता हूँ। सुनकर मन में धारण कर और सब तजकर मेरा भजन कर॥1॥
मम माया संभव संसारा। जीव चराचर बिबिधि प्रकारा॥
सब मम प्रिय सब मम उपजाए। सब ते अधिक मनुज मोहि भाए॥2॥

यह सारा संसार मेरी माया से उत्पन्न है। (इसमें) अनेकों प्रकार के चराचर जीव हैं। वे सभी मुझे प्रिय हैं, क्योंकि सभी मेरे उत्पन्न किए हुए हैं। (किंतु) मनुष्य मुझको सबसे अधिक अच्छे लगते हैं॥2॥
तिन्ह महँ द्विज द्विज महँ श्रुतिधारी। तिन्ह महुँ निगम धरम अनुसारी॥
तिन्ह महँ प्रिय बिरक्त पुनि ग्यानी। ग्यानिहु ते अति प्रिय बिग्यानी॥3॥
