बिरति बिबेक बिनय बिग्याना। बोध जथारथ बेद पुराना॥
दंभ मान मद करहिं न काऊ। भूलि न देहिं कुमारग पाऊ॥3॥
…They embody dispassion, wisdom, humility, and knowledge of the divine, with deep understanding of the Vedas and Puranas. They never fall into hypocrisy, pride, or arrogance, nor do they tread the path of evil, even by mistake…
भावार्थ : तथा वैराग्य, विवेक, विनय, विज्ञान (परमात्मा के तत्व का ज्ञान) और वेद-पुराण का यथार्थ ज्ञान रहता है। वे दम्भ, अभिमान और मद कभी नहीं करते और भूलकर भी कुमार्ग पर पैर नहीं रखते॥3॥
गावहिं सुनहिं सदा मम लीला। हेतु रहित परहित रत सीला॥
मुनि सुनु साधुन्ह के गुन जेते। कहि न सकहिं सादर श्रुति तेते॥4॥
…They ever listen to and sing of my exploits, and without desire for personal gain, they devote themselves wholly to the welfare of others. Hear, O’ Sage, the virtues of saintly souls are limitless, neither Saraswati, the Goddess of Speech, nor the Vedas themselves can fully describe them…
भावार्थ : सदा मेरी लीलाओं को गाते-सुनते हैं और बिना ही कारण दूसरों के हित में लगे रहने वाले होते हैं। हे मुनि! सुनो, संतों के जितने गुण हैं, उनको सरस्वती और वेद भी नहीं कह सकते॥4॥
छंद :
* कहि सक न सारद सेष नारद सुनत पद पंकज गहे।
अस दीनबंधु कृपाल अपने भगत गुन निज मुख कहे॥
सिरु नाइ बारहिं बार चरनन्हि ब्रह्मपुर नारद गए।
ते धन्य तुलसीदास आस बिहाइ जे हरि रँग रँए॥
…Neither Shesha, the thousand-mouthed King of Serpents, nor Saraswati, the Goddess of Speech, can recount all the virtues of saintly beings”, hearing these words of Lord Ram, Narad ji clasped His lotus feet. In this way, all-merciful Lord, the friend of the afflicted, describe with His own lips the glories of His devotees. Bowing again and again at the Lord’s feet, Narad ji departed for the abode of Lord Brahma. And Tulsidas ji declares: “Blessed indeed are they who forsake all worldly hopes and remain wholly absorbed in devotion to Lord Hari.”
भावार्थ : ‘शेष और शारदा भी नहीं कह सकते’ यह सुनते ही नारदजी ने श्री रामजी के चरणकमल पकड़ लिए। दीनबंधु कृपालु प्रभु ने इस प्रकार अपने श्रीमुख से अपने भक्तों के गुण कहे। भगवान् के चरणों में बार-बार सिर नवाकर नारदजी ब्रह्मलोक को चले गए। तुलसीदासजी कहते हैं कि वे पुरुष धन्य हैं, जो सब आशा छोड़कर केवल श्री हरि के रंग में रँग गए हैं।
* रावनारि जसु पावन गावहिं सुनहिं जे लोग।
राम भगति दृढ़ पावहिं बिनु बिराग जप जोग॥46 क॥
Those who listen to and sing the sacred glories of Ravan’s foe, Shri Ram, shall attain firm and unwavering devotion to Him, even without practising dispassion, chanting, or yoga.
भावार्थ : जो लोग रावण के शत्रु श्री रामजी का पवित्र यश गावेंगे और सुनेंगे, वे वैराग्य, जप और योग के बिना ही श्री रामजी की दृढ़ भक्ति पावेंगे॥46 (क)॥
दीप सिखा सम जुबति तन मन जनि होसि पतंग।
भजहि राम तजि काम मद करहि सदा सतसंग॥46 ख॥
A young woman’s body is like the flame of a candle; O’ Heart, do not act as a moth and rush toward it. Renounce all worldly desires and false pride, and pray to Lord Ram, ever keeping the company of Saints.
भावार्थ : युवती स्त्रियों का शरीर दीपक की लौ के समान है, हे मन! तू उसका पतिंगा न बन। काम और मद को छोड़कर श्री रामचंद्रजी का भजन कर और सदा सत्संग कर॥46 (ख)॥
