रामायण माहात्म्य, तुलसी विनय और फलस्तुति – Greatness of the Ramayan. Tulsidas ji’s prayer and reward of reciting this poem

"जो मनुष्य रघुवंश के भूषण श्री रामजी का यह चरित्र कहते हैं, सुनते हैं और गाते हैं, वे कलियुग के पाप और मन के मल को धोकर बिना ही परिश्रम श्री रामजी के परम धाम को चले जाते हैं। (अधिक क्या) जो मनुष्य पाँच-सात चौपाइयों को भी मनोहर जानकर (अथवा रामायण की चौपाइयों को श्रेष्ठ पंच (कर्तव्याकर्तव्य का सच्चा निर्णायक) जानकर उनको हृदय में धारण कर लेता है, उसके भी पाँच प्रकार की अविद्याओं से उत्पन्न विकारों को श्री रामजी हरण कर लेते हैं, (अर्थात्‌ सारे रामचरित्र की तो बात ही क्या है, जो पाँच-सात चौपाइयों को भी समझकर उनका अर्थ हृदय में धारण कर लेते हैं, उनके भी अविद्याजनित सारे क्लेश श्री रामचंद्रजी हर लेते हैं)॥2॥"

"…Those who recite, hear, or sing the glorious exploits of the crest jewel of the Raghu lineage shall wash away the sins and defilements of Kaliyug and, casting aside the mortal body, effortlessly attain the divine abode of Lord Ram. Even one who lovingly holds within the heart as few as five or seven chaupais of Shri Ramcharitmanas, delighting in them, shall find that Shri Raghuveer dispels the fivefold afflictions born of formidable Maya…"
