"मनुष्य रोगों से पीड़ित हैं, भोग (सुख) कहीं नहीं है। बिना ही कारण अभिमान और विरोध करते हैं। दस-पाँच वर्ष का थोड़ा सा जीवन है, परंतु घमंड ऐसा है मानो कल्पांत (प्रलय) होने पर भी उनका नाश नहीं होगा॥2॥"
