यह न कहिअ सठही हठसीलहि। जो मन लाइ न सुन हरि लीलहि॥
कहिअ न लोभिहि क्रोधिहि कामिहि। जो न भजइ सचराचर स्वामिहि॥2॥

Hindi Meaning
"यह कथा उनसे न कहनी चाहिए जो शठ (धूर्त) हों, हठी स्वभाव के हों और श्री हरि की लीला को मन लगाकर न सुनते हों। लोभी, क्रोधी और कामी को, जो चराचर के स्वामी श्री रामजी को नहीं भजते, यह कथा नहीं कहनी चाहिए॥2॥"
English Meaning
"…One should never insist upon reciting this sacred narrative to a vile and obstinate person who has no inclination to listen with reverence to the divine exploits of Lord Hari. Nor should it be narrated to one who is consumed by greed, resentment, or lust, and who does not worship Shri Ram, the sovereign Lord of all that is animate and inanimate…"
