"जो प्रभु का प्रताप जानते थे, वे निर्भय डटे रहे। वानरों ने शत्रुओं (बहुत से रावणों) को सच्चा ही मान लिया। (इससे) सब वानर-भालू विचलित होकर ‘हे कृपालु! रक्षा कीजिए’ (यों पुकारते हुए) भय से व्याकुल होकर भाग चले। अत्यंत बलवान्‌ रणबाँकुरे हनुमान्‌जी, अंगद, नील और नल लड़ते हैं और कपट रूपी भूमि से अंकुर की भाँति उपजे हुए कोटि-कोटि योद्धा रावणों को मसलते हैं।"

"Those who knew the Lord’s glory remained fearless, but the monkeys took the enemy’s phantoms to be real. Stricken with fear and distress, the monkeys and bears rushed to Shri Ram, crying, “Save us, O’ Merciful Lord.” Meanwhile, the most formidable warriors, Hanuman ji, Angad, Nal, and Neel, fought on valiantly and crushed many of Ravan’s phantoms that had arisen from the ground of deception."
