"एक बाण ने नाभि के अमृत कुंड को सोख लिया। दूसरे तीस बाण कोप करके उसके सिरों और भुजाओं में लगे। बाण सिरों और भुजाओं को लेकर चले। सिरों और भुजाओं से रहित रुण्ड (धड़) पृथ्वी पर नाचने लगा॥1॥"

"One arrow dried up the reservoir of nectar in Ravan’s navel, while the others, in a fierce assault, severed his heads and arms, carrying them away and leaving his headless, armless trunk writhing and dancing upon the battlefield."
