श्री राम-लक्ष्मण और श्री परशुराम-संवाद – Exchange of heated words between Shri Lakshman and Sage Parshuram. Lord Ram’s triumph over the latter

"विश्वामित्रजी ने हृदय में हँसकर कहा- मुनि को हरा ही हरा सूझ रहा है (अर्थात सर्वत्र विजयी होने के कारण ये श्री राम-लक्ष्मण को भी साधारण क्षत्रिय ही समझ रहे हैं), किन्तु यह लोहमयी (केवल फौलाद की बनी हुई) खाँड़ (खाँड़ा-खड्ग) है, ऊख की (रस की) खाँड़ नहीं है (जो मुँह में लेते ही गल जाए। खेद है,) मुनि अब भी बेसमझ बने हुए हैं, इनके प्रभाव को नहीं समझ रहे हैं॥275॥"

"Vishwamitra ji smiled to himself, thinking, the Sage sees green all around, mistaking this moment for his victory and taking Shri Ram and Shri Lakshman to be nothing more than ordinary Princes. But these two are no mere sweet, princely boys, they are young men of steel. (The pun on khaand fits well: not just sugarcane sweetness, but swords of steel). The Sage remains unaware, still blind to the divine power that resides within them."
