Hindi Meaning
"न रख ही सकती हैं, न यह कह सकती हैं कि वन चले जाओ। दोनों ही प्रकार से हृदय में बड़ा भारी संताप हो रहा है। (मन में सोचती हैं कि देखो-) विधाता की चाल सदा सबके लिए टेढ़ी होती है। लिखने लगे चन्द्रमा और लिखा गया राहु॥1॥"
English Meaning
"She could neither ask Shri Ram to stay in the palace nor tell Him to go to the forest. The thought of either choice (both of which could make Shri Ram go against His Father’s command) filled her heart with unbearable agony. She said to herself, “It is as if someone intended to write ‘Moon’ but ended up writing ‘Rahu’ instead. The ways of the Creator always seem to turn against the hopes of all.”"
