Hindi Meaning
"मुनियों का समाज है और फिर तीर्थराज है। यहाँ सच्ची सौगंध खाने से भी भरपूर हानि होती है। इस स्थान में यदि कुछ बनाकर कहा जाए, तो इसके समान कोई बड़ा पाप और नीचता न होगी॥1॥"
English Meaning
"…”Before me stands the sacred assembly of revered Sages, and this is Prayag, the King of all Pilgrimages. Even speaking a truthful oath here must be done with utmost care, for the place is so holy that a mere oath may carry great consequence. And to speak a lie here, there can be no greater sin or more terrible offence than that…"
