"तब योग रूपी अग्नि प्रकट करके उसमें समस्त शुभाशुभ कर्म रूपी ईंधन लगा दें (सब कर्मों को योग रूपी अग्नि में भस्म कर दें)। जब (वैराग्य रूपी मक्खन का) ममता रूपी मल, जल जाए, तब (बचे हुए) ज्ञान रूपी घी को (निश्चयात्मिका) बुद्धि से ठंडा करें॥117क॥"

"…Having kindled the fire of Yoga (the steady concentration of the mind), one should cast into it past karma, both virtuous and sinful, as fuel, and offer the butter as oblation. When the froth of worldly attachment is consumed in that flame, the ghee (clarified butter) that remains, freed from infatuation, should be cooled and clarified by the light of discerning wisdom…"
