Hindi Meaning
"सुंदर बाजार है, जो वर्णन करते नहीं बनता, वहाँ वस्तुएँ बिना ही मूल्य मिलती हैं। जहाँ स्वयं लक्ष्मीपति राजा हों, वहाँ की संपत्ति का वर्णन कैसे किया जाए? बजाज (कपड़े का व्यापार करने वाले), सराफ (रुपए-पैसे का लेन-देन करने वाले) आदि वणिक् (व्यापारी) बैठे हुए ऐसे जान प़ड़ते हैं मानो अनेक कुबेर हों, स्त्री, पुरुष बच्चे और बूढ़े जो भी हैं, सभी सुखी, सदाचारी और सुंदर हैं॥"
English Meaning
"The marketplaces were magnificent beyond description, with goods freely available in abundance. How can one adequately describe the splendour of a Kingdom where Shri Ram Himself, the eternal abode of Goddess Rama (Lakshmi ji), reigned as King? Cloth merchants, custodians of wealth, and traders sat in their shops like so many Kubers, the Demigod of Wealth. All men and women, the young and the elderly alike, lived in happiness, they were all of noble conduct, and beautiful in every respect."
