Hindi Meaning
"संत और असंतों की करनी ऐसी है जैसे कुल्हाड़ी और चंदन का आचरण होता है। हे भाई! सुनो, कुल्हाड़ी चंदन को काटती है (क्योंकि उसका स्वभाव या काम ही वृक्षों को काटना है), किंतु चंदन अपने स्वभाववश अपना गुण देकर उसे (काटने वाली कुल्हाड़ी को) सुगंध से सुवासित कर देता है॥4॥"
English Meaning
"…The conduct of the saintly and the wicked is like that of sandalwood and the axe. Listen, brother, the axe strikes and cuts the sandalwood tree, yet the tree leaves its fragrance upon the axe, perfuming it with its own virtue…"
