संत हृदय नवनीत समाना। कहा कबिन्ह परि कहै न जाना॥
निज परिताप द्रवइ नवनीता। पर दुख द्रवहिं संत सुपुनीता॥4॥

Hindi Meaning
"संतों का हृदय मक्खन के समान होता है, ऐसा कवियों ने कहा है, परंतु उन्होंने (असली बात) कहना नहीं जाना, क्योंकि मक्खन तो अपने को ताप मिलने से पिघलता है और परम पवित्र संत दूसरों के दुःख से पिघल जाते हैं॥4॥"
English Meaning
"…Poets say that the hearts of Sages are like butter, yet this comparison does not fully capture the truth. Butter melts only when placed near fire, but the hearts of holy Saints melt instantly at the mere sight of another’s suffering…"
