तिन्ह महँ द्विज द्विज महँ श्रुतिधारी। तिन्ह महुँ निगम धरम अनुसारी॥
तिन्ह महँ प्रिय बिरक्त पुनि ग्यानी। ग्यानिहु ते अति प्रिय बिग्यानी॥3॥

Hindi Meaning
"उन मनुष्यों में द्विज, द्विजों में भी वेदों को (कंठ में) धारण करने वाले, उनमें भी वेदोक्त धर्म पर चलने वाले, उनमें भी विरक्त (वैराग्यवान्) मुझे प्रिय हैं। वैराग्यवानों में फिर ज्ञानी और ज्ञानियों से भी अत्यंत प्रिय विज्ञानी हैं॥3॥"
English Meaning
"…Among human beings, the Brahmins are dear to me; among them, those who have mastered the Vedas are dearer. Of these, those who follow the path prescribed by the Vedas are dearer still. Above all these, those who are detached and free from worldly attachments are especially dear to me. Among the detached, the wise are dearer, and among the wise, the exceptionally intelligent and enlightened beings are the most beloved of all…"
