"कलियुग में न वर्णधर्म रहता है, न चारों आश्रम रहते हैं। सब पुरुष-स्त्री वेद के विरोध में लगे रहते हैं। ब्राह्मण वेदों के बेचने वाले और राजा प्रजा को खा डालने वाले होते हैं। वेद की आज्ञा कोई नहीं मानता॥1॥"

"…In Kaliyug, neither the social order based on the four primary varnas: Brahmins (priests, teachers, and intellectuals), Kshatriyas (warriors, kings, and administrators), Vaishyas (agriculturalists, traders, and farmers), and Shudras (workers, labourers, and artisans), nor adherence to the four stages of life (student life, married household life, withdrawal into ascetic life, and complete renunciation) was observed. All men and women took delight in criticizing the Vedas and the sacred Scriptures. Brahmins openly sold the sacred knowledge of the Vedas, Kings exploited their Kingdoms for personal gain, thereby inflicting suffering upon society, and no one showed respect for the injunctions and moral discipline prescribed by the Vedas…"
