हनुमान्‌जी के द्वारा भरतजी का प्रश्न और श्री रामजी का उपदेश – Hanuman ji presents Bharat ji’s question, followed by Lord Ram’s discourse on the subject

"लोभ ही उनका ओढ़ना और लोभ ही बिछौना होता है (अर्थात्‌ लोभ ही से वे सदा घिरे हुए रहते हैं)। वे पशुओं के समान आहार और मैथुन के ही परायण होते हैं, उन्हें यमपुर का भय नहीं लगता। यदि किसी की बड़ाई सुन पाते हैं, तो वे ऐसी (दुःखभरी) साँस लेते हैं मानों उन्हें जूड़ी आ गई हो॥1॥"

"…Greed alone is their blanket and bedding, for they remain entirely engulfed by it. Their sole aim is to indulge in lust and satisfy their hunger, without the slightest fear of hell. Whenever they hear someone being praised, they sigh deeply, as though struck by a burning fever…"
