"उदार (परम श्रेष्ठ एवं महान्‌) सर्पराज शेषजी भी सेना का बोझ नहीं सह सकते, वे बार-बार मोहित हो जाते (घबड़ा जाते) हैं और पुनः-पुनः कच्छप की कठोर पीठ को दाँतों से पकड़ते हैं। ऐसा करते (अर्थात्‌ बार-बार दाँतों को गड़ाकर कच्छप की पीठ पर लकीर सी खींचते हुए) वे कैसे शोभा दे रहे हैं मानो श्री रामचंद्रजी की सुंदर प्रस्थान यात्रा को परम सुहावनी जानकर उसकी अचल पवित्र कथा को सर्पराज शेषजी कच्छप की पीठ पर लिख रहे हों॥2॥"

"The immense weight of the mighty army, composed of countless powerful monkeys and bears, made even Shesh ji, the Lord of Serpents, strain under the burden of supporting the Cosmos upon his hoods, causing him to grow anxious again and again. To steady himself, Shesh ji bit firmly onto the hard shell of the great divine Tortoise, who also bears the weight of the Universe. This wondrous sight seemed to portray the glorious march of Shri Raghuveer as though this eternal and sacred event were being engraved upon the divine Tortoise’s shell by the very teeth of Shesh ji."
