"वह ब्रह्मा की दी हुई प्रचण्ड शक्ति लक्ष्मणजी की ठीक छाती में लगी। वीर लक्ष्मणजी व्याकुल होकर गिर पड़े। तब रावण उन्हें उठाने लगा, पर उसके अतुलित बल की महिमा यों ही रह गई, (व्यर्थ हो गई, वह उन्हें उठा न सका)। जिनके एक ही सिर पर ब्रह्मांड रूपी भवन धूल के एक कण के समान विराजता है, उन्हें मूर्ख रावण उठाना चाहता है! वह तीनों भुवनों के स्वामी लक्ष्मणजी को नहीं जानता।"

"The fierce Shakti spear bestowed by Brahma struck Lord Anant (Lakshman ji), straight in the chest, and he fell to the ground in agony. The ten-headed Ravan attempted to lift Lakshman ji and carry him away, but the pride of his unmatched strength failed before the one upon whose head the entire Cosmos, with its fourteen spheres, rests like a grain of sand. The deluded Ravan could not recognize Shri Lakshman as the Master of the three spheres (Earth, Heaven, and the subterranean region)."
