"लंका में बड़ा भारी कोलाहल (कोहराम) मच गया। अत्यंत अहंकारी रावण ने उसे सुनकर कहा- वानरों की ढिठाई तो देखो! यह कहते हुए हँसकर उसने राक्षसों की सेना बुलाई॥1॥"
