"यह रामचरित मानस जैसा है, जिस प्रकार बना है और जिस हेतु से जगत में इसका प्रचार हुआ, अब वही सब कथा मैं श्री उमा-महेश्वर का स्मरण करके कहता हूँ॥35॥"
English Meaning
"Invoking Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiv, who bears the symbol of a bull (representing dharma) on His flag, I now begin to narrate the various aspects of Shri Ramcharitmanas, its essence, how it came into being, and the reasons for its widespread reverence and popularity in the world."
