Hindi Meaning
"तुलसीदासजी कहते हैं कि श्री रघुनाथजी की कथा कल्याण करने वाली और कलियुग के पापों को हरने वाली है। मेरी इस भद्दी कविता रूपी नदी की चाल पवित्र जल वाली नदी (गंगाजी) की चाल की भाँति टेढ़ी है। प्रभु श्री रघुनाथजी के सुंदर यश के संग से यह कविता सुंदर तथा सज्जनों के मन को भाने वाली हो जाएगी। श्मशान की अपवित्र राख भी श्री महादेवजी के अंग के संग से सुहावनी लगती है और स्मरण करते ही पवित्र करने वाली होती है।"
English Meaning
"The tale of the Lord of the Raghu dynasty will usher in all auspiciousness and cleanse the sins of Kaliyug. Though my composition flows unevenly, much like the meandering Ganga river, it is made beautiful by the glorious fame of Lord Ram. This blend will delight the hearts of saintly people. Just as the ash from the cremation ground adorning the body of Lord Shiv becomes sacred and purifies through mere meditation, so too will this humble composition radiate beauty and piety."
