"हे देव! हमारे तो एक ही गुण धनुष है और आपके परम पवित्र (शम, दम, तप, शौच, क्षमा, सरलता, ज्ञान, विज्ञान और आस्तिकता ये) नौ गुण हैं। हम तो सब प्रकार से आपसे हारे हैं। हे विप्र! हमारे अपराधों को क्षमा कीजिए॥4॥"

"…O’ Lord, I possess but a single merit, my bow. You, on the other hand, are the embodiment of nine supreme virtues (control of the mind, control of the senses, penance, purity, compassion, simplicity, knowledge, wisdom, and detachment). In truth, we are no match for you in any way. O’ Revered Brahmin, please forgive our mistakes.”"
