"तप के बल से ही ब्रह्मा संसार को रचते हैं और तप के बल से ही बिष्णु सारे जगत का पालन करते हैं। तप के बल से ही शम्भु (रुद्र रूप से) जगत का संहार करते हैं और तप के बल से ही शेषजी पृथ्वी का भार धारण करते हैं॥2॥"
