श्री राम-लक्ष्मण का जनकपुर निरीक्षण – A visit to the town by Shri Ram Lakshman ji

"(दोनों भाइयों के) पीले रंग के वस्त्र हैं, कमर के (पीले) दुपट्टों में तरकस बँधे हैं। हाथों में सुंदर धनुष-बाण सुशोभित हैं। (श्याम और गौर वर्ण के) शरीरों के अनुकूल (अर्थात्‌ जिस पर जिस रंग का चंदन अधिक फबे उस पर उसी रंग के) सुंदर चंदन की खौर लगी है। साँवरे और गोरे (रंग) की मनोहर जोड़ी है॥2॥"

"Shri Ram and Shri Lakshman were dressed in yellow garments, with cloth bands tied around their waists securing their quivers. In their hands, they carried graceful bows and arrows that added to their divine splendour. Their foreheads were adorned with elegant sandalwood paste tilaks, perfectly matching their complexions (Shri Ram, dark in hue, bore a striking white mark, while the fair-complexioned Shri Lakshman had a soft yellow one). This divine contrast; the dark and the fair, captivated every heart that beheld them."
