"जनकपुरवासियों ने सुना कि बारात जाएगी, तब वे व्याकुल होकर एक-दूसरे से बात पूछने लगे। जाना सत्य है, यह सुनकर सब ऐसे उदास हो गए मानो संध्या के समय कमल सकुचा गए हों॥1॥"
English Meaning
"When the townspeople heard that the Bridegroom’s party was preparing to leave, they anxiously asked one another if it was true. Upon learning that the news was indeed true, their hearts sank, like lotuses that wither at the approach of dusk."
