"बिजली की सी कांति वाली चन्द्रमुखी, हरिन के बच्चे के से नेत्र वाली और अपने सुंदर रूप से कामदेव की स्त्री रति के अभिमान को छुड़ाने वाली सुहागिनी स्त्रियाँ सभी सोलहों श्रृंगार सजकर, जहाँ-तहाँ झुंड की झुंड मिलकर,॥1॥"
English Meaning
"Groups of women, each skilled in the sixteen traditional arts of adornment, gathered here and there, radiating beauty like flashes of lightning. Their faces were as enchanting as the Moon, and their eyes resembled those of a graceful fawn. Their elegance and charm were such that even Rati, the Goddess of Beauty and consort of Kaamdev, would be humbled."
