"भावार्थ:-जिनकी गोद में हिमाचलसुता पार्वतीजी, मस्तक पर गंगाजी, ललाट पर द्वितीया का चन्द्रमा, कंठ में हलाहल विष और वक्षःस्थल पर सर्पराज शेषजी सुशोभित हैं, वे भस्म से विभूषित, देवताओं में श्रेष्ठ, सर्वेश्वर, संहारकर्ता (या भक्तों के पापनाशक), सर्वव्यापक, कल्याण रूप, चन्द्रमा के समान शुभ्रवर्ण श्री शंकरजी सदा मेरी रक्षा करें॥1॥"

"May Lord Shankar always protect me, He in whose lap sits Goddess Parvati, the divine Daughter of Himachal; who carries the celestial river Ganga in His matted locks and adorns the crescent Moon upon His head; whose neck holds the dreadful Halahal poison, and on whose chest the Serpent King Vasuki shines in glory. His sacred body is smeared with holy ash, and He is the supreme master of all Demigods, the Lord of all beings. He is the destroyer of the Universe, the remover of all sins of His devotees, ever-present, compassionate, pure, and radiant like the full Moon."
