"आधाररहित (अस्थिर) बुद्धि की स्त्री और देवताओं की माया के वश में होने के कारण रहस्ययुक्त कपट भरे प्रिय वचनों को सुनकर रानी कैकेयी ने बैरिन मन्थरा को अपनी सुहृद् (अहैतुक हित करने वाली) जानकर उसका विश्वास कर लिया॥16॥|"
English Meaning
"Hearing Manthara’s cunning and deceptive words, the fickle-minded Queen, deluded by the illusory powers of the Demigods, mistook her enemy for a well-wisher and placed her trust in Manthara’s flattering speech."
