Hindi Meaning
"इस बात को सुनकर सब स्त्री-पुरुष ऐसे व्याकुल हो गए जैसे दावानल (वन में आग लगी) देखकर बेल और वृक्ष मुरझा जाते हैं। जो जहाँ सुनता है, वह वहीं सिर धुनने (पीटने) लगता है! बड़ा विषाद है, किसी को धीरज नहीं बँधता॥4॥"
English Meaning
"Hearing the news, all the men and women were plunged into sorrow, just as creepers and trees wither at the mere sight of a forest fire. Whoever heard it began beating their heads in anguish; there was immense grief everywhere, and no one could contain their emotions."
