"हे स्वामी! आपने मुझे सीख तो बड़ी अच्छी दी है, पर मुझे अपनी कायरता से वह मेरे लिए अगम (पहुँच के बाहर) लगी। शास्त्र और नीति के तो वे ही श्रेष्ठ पुरुष अधिकारी हैं, जो धीर हैं और धर्म की धुरी को धारण करने वाले हैं॥1॥"

"…O’ Lord of the senses, You have given me wise and righteous counsel, but because of my own restless and fearful nature, I find it difficult to follow. Only those noble souls who are patient and firmly rooted in dharma (righteousness) are truly fit to be guided by the teachings of the Scriptures and the principles of ethics…"
