"भावार्थ : (काकभुशुण्डिजी कहते हैं-) हे गरुड़जी! (शूर्पणखा- जैसी राक्षसी, धर्मज्ञान शून्य कामान्ध) स्त्री मनोहर पुरुष को देखकर, चाहे वह भाई, पिता, पुत्र ही हो, विकल हो जाती है और मन को नहीं रोक सकती। जैसे सूर्यकान्तमणि सूर्य को देखकर द्रवित हो जाती है (ज्वाला से पिघल जाती है)॥3॥"

"Kak Bhushundi ji said to Garud ji, the King of Birds, “A vile woman like Shurpanakha, who succumbs to lust at the mere sight of any handsome man, even if he be her own brother, father, or son, loses all self-control and melts away in the fire of passion, just as a sun-gem dissolves in the presence of the Sun.”"
